NDIS
As a Multidisciplinary Allied Health clinic, we advocate for NDIS clients of all ages and guide them through the NDIS process.
Early Childhood Intervention:
Childhood is a time of rapid change for a child’s body, brain and nervous system. Early Intervention utilises children’s brain responsiveness (known as plasticity) to encourage healthy growth and formation of strong pathways for learning, behaviour, and emotional and social development. We provide Early Childhood Intervention for children under 7 years who have a disability or developmental delay. Our Psychologists offer supports to intervene and reduce the long-term for children. The goal is to improve children’s skills and overall daily living. We provide assistance in developing evidence and advocating for funding to continue to support a child’s needs.
Behaviour Support Plan:
At Mindwaves Healthcare, we value the positive approach to assist children and adults’ behaviour in a safe and supportive way. Our experienced Behavioural Support Professionals implement Behaviour Support programs to help everyone identify the origin of their behaviours, the trigger, and assist with positive behaviour change. We aim to teach valuable life skills, teach strategies to reduce problematic behaviours. The Behaviour Support Plan provides recommendations on strategies to reinforce positive change.
Assessment and Planning:
Allied Health Clinicians, such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, and Psychologists, conduct thorough assessments of a client’s needs, strengths, and challenges. Based on these assessments, they develop personalised plans that outline the specific interventions, therapies, and support required to achieve the client’s goals.
Goal Setting:
Under the NDIS, clients work with Allied Health Clinicans to set clear and achievable goals that enhance their independence, well-being, and participation in their community. These goals might include improving mobility, communication skills, social interactions, or daily living skills.
Evidence-Based Interventions:
Allied Health Clinicians provide evidence-based interventions and therapies tailored to the client’s unique needs. For instance, Physiotherapists may offer exercises to improve mobility, Speech Pathologists may work on communication strategies, and Psychologists may provide counseling to address emotional well-being.
Skill Development:
Allied Health Clinicians focus on skill development across various domains, such as communication, self-care, mobility, and cognitive functioning. They work with clients to enhance their abilities and empower them to actively engage in their daily lives.
Regular Monitoring and Progression:
Allied Health Clinicians continuously monitor the client’s progress toward their goals. They make adjustments to interventions and strategies as needed to ensure that the client is on track to achieve the desired outcomes.
Assistive Technology and Aids:
Depending on the client’s needs, Allied Health Clinicians can recommend and facilitate the acquisition of assistive technology and aids that promote independence. This might include mobility devices, communication devices, adaptive tools, and more.
Family and Career Support:
Allied Health Clinicians also extend their support to families and caregivers. They provide guidance, training, and strategies that enable caregivers to assist clients effectively and promote a supportive environment at home.
Collaboration and Coordination:
NDIS participants often require services from multiple allied health professionals. Clinicians collaborate together to ensure that all aspects of the client’s care are aligned and cohesive.

In essence, Allied Health Clinicians are instrumental in helping clients under the NDIS scheme achieve greater independence, reach their goals, and improve their overall well-being.
